For lifters with a shoulder that argues back
We analyzed 144 verified reviews and the pre-purchase surveys of thousands of buyers to see what actually made this attachment click. These are the five reasons that came up most, ordered from most common to least, from lifters who kept training around a shoulder a barbell had stopped being kind to.

Round familiar?
A fixed barbell forces one vertical path, and for a shoulder carrying an old injury, a surgery, or years of wear, that one path is the problem. So most lifters do what you've probably already done: swap in a workaround that quietly asks you to do less. These are the fixes that never quite stuck.
None of these fix the root problem: the fixed path. Here's what the buyers say does.

01
Reason #1 · the #1 theme
This is the reason that comes up more than any other. A straight bar drives your shoulder into one fixed overhead position, and for a lot of lifters that position is exactly where the pain lives. The Viking Press runs on a landmine arc instead, so the load travels up and slightly forward on a path the shoulder tolerates. Buyers who were told they were done pressing overhead are pressing overhead again. Clear it with your physio first, then find the grip that works.

Reason #2 · the mechanism
Here's what a fixed machine can't do. Your press angle is set by how far you stand from the landmine pivot. Stand over it and the emphasis rides high onto the upper chest. Step back and it shifts to front delt and chest. Step back further for a lower front-delt path. Same handle, same bar, same load, and a materially different joint demand, dialed in by your feet instead of by buying a second machine. That's how you hunt for the one angle your shoulder doesn't argue with.
"I really like that you can control the angle of press from upper chest, to front delt, to overhead. It's also got a great range of motion for lighter work to help strengthen my shoulder."

Reason #3 · grip quality
Landmine rows off a bare bar sleeve are awkward, unstable, and your grip gives out before the muscle does. The Viking Press gives you a proper 30mm handle, noticeably better in the hand than the bulky 2 inch tubes most attachments ship with. More stable grip, more range, more load on the back you're actually trying to train. One buyer put his old bolt-together Titan attachment next to it and didn't look back.
"I've had the cheap bolt-together Viking and one from Titan, and this is by far better. The 30mm diameter feels awesome in hand. I've had it loaded up to 310 and it held like a tank."

Reason #4 · lower body
A standard front-rack barbell position asks for wrist and shoulder mobility a lot of experienced lifters over 40 just don't have anymore. The Viking Press gives you a neutral, ergonomic grip to load front squats, goblet holds, back squats and RDLs without forcing your wrists into a position they hate. Same piece of steel, now working your legs. It's why buyers stop treating it as a pressing-only tool.
"Great product, especially if you want to avoid barbell or Smith squats."

Reason #5 · versatility
Press, overhead, row, front squat, goblet hold. Five jobs from one 8 lb piece of steel that hangs on the wall when you're done. For a home gym where every attachment has to earn its footprint, that's the whole argument. Pair it with the U Clip and your rack's own safety bar becomes the landmine pivot, so you're not buying a landmine station either. One buyer runs high pulls, rows and clean-and-press as a single circuit without ever changing equipment.
"With the Viking Press I can do a brutal circuit of high pulls, rows and clean and press with no rest or equipment change."

"Great attachment! Highly recommend. The Viking press has become one of my favorite movements. It's a great shoulder-friendly shoulder press variation. Keep up the good work Uclips!"

"I really like that you can control the angle of the press, from upper chest, to front delt, to overhead. Changing up grips and movements has been fun."

"I absolutely love it. So versatile. You can do so many different things. Even came up with a couple of new ones once I saw it in action."

"Great Viking Press. Good looking welds, feels strong, and good powder coat. Lots of grip options, and great to have a smaller diameter handle rather than the more common 2" options out there."

"Great product. Enhances my at-home shoulder workouts!"
From the founder
"With the U Clip, a barbell you already own can replicate a commercial machine, without the four-figure spend or the corner of the gym lost to it. The Viking Press came out of the same idea: give a serious lifter the angle their shoulder needs without asking them to buy a machine or leave the movement behind."Eliott Ekindi, Founder, Uclips

They almost certainly meant no barbell overhead press, the fixed vertical path. This runs on a landmine arc, so the grip, the arc and the angle all change, which is why buyers who were told they were done are pressing overhead again. Bring it up with your physio specifically. Yes. It works on any barbell set up as a landmine, and it pairs with the U Clip so your rack's safety bar can become the pivot. Home gym, commercial gym, power rack or freestanding landmine, all covered.
Yes, 600 lb, consistent across the spec sheet and confirmed in use. One buyer loaded it to 310 and said it held like a tank.
It's noticeably slimmer than the common 2 inch tubes, and buyers coming from bolt-together Titan-style attachments repeatedly say it feels better in the hand and is built tougher.
Not required. It works on any landmine setup on its own. But pairing with the U Clip turns your existing rack's safety bar into the pivot, which is why the two are frequently bought together.
